SONIC VISTA er et prosjekt av Nuproductions i samarbeid med Stavanger2008. 10 benker designet av Mil Stricevic og produsert av bedriften Ranso er utplassert ulike steder i Stavanger-området. De inneholder en mp3-spiller i hvert armlene. Plugg inn ditt headset og de spiller musikk spesiallaget for denne benken. “Min” benk spiller orgellyder samplet fra innspillingen “19 March 2004, Oslo Cathedral”. Klangene er frosset og beveger seg meget langsomt ut og inn av lydbildet. Imens kan du kanskje ta inn naturlyder, eller synsinntrykket fra Hafrsfjorden eller fly som går inn for landing på Sola flyplass mot venstre i synsfeltet.

Musikken er totalt ca 40 minutter lang, og består av 10 spor som spilles i tilfeldig rekkefølge.

SONIC VISTA is a project by Nuproductions in cooperation with Stavanger2008. 10 benches designed by Mil Strivovik and produced by the company Ranso are placed at various sites in the Stavanger area. They contain a mp3 player in each armrest. Plug your headset and they start playing music which is specially composed for this bench. “My” bench plays organ sounds, sampled from the recording “19 March 2004, Oslo Cathedral”. The sounds are frozen (granulated) and move very slowly in and out of the soundscape. Meanwhile, you will maybe be aware of nature sounds from the surroundings, or the visual impression of Hafrsfjord or airplanes in for landing at Sola airport.
